First of all: Yay! I remembered how to construct a rudimentary html table. Some things we never forget: how to ride a bike, how to make a table on the Internet…

It’s nice to see evidence of the progress I’ve made in the last three years as a writer. I only started keeping records online using The Submission Grinder after coming home from VP in October 2013. Before that, I had a WordPerfect table that sufficed because the submissions were few and far between.
Here’s my working list of what I’d like to do in 2016:
-
Research markets for and submit novels (I have two at the submittable stage).
-
Complete a first draft of my half-finished novel.
-
Begin revisions on that novel.
-
Write six new short stories (low-balling this one because of that unfinished novel).
-
Revise the half-dozen stories I can think of off the top of my head that are finished but not ready.
-
Submit as much and as often as possible. Try to exceed 41? Why not?
And, while I’m at it:
-
Blog more.
-
Tweet more.
-
Do more art.
-
Make that quilt for my granddaughter.
Caveats to Self
-
Don’t be nervous. These are goals, not resolutions.
-
They may not survive contact with reality.
-
That’s okay as long as you’re making progress on your writing.
