Traveling in ever-widening circles from Virginia to New Mexico in a series of fabulous fifties cars, Monique must protect her innocent companions—nephew, Tommy and book buddy, Sandy (who may not be as innocent as she appears), while staying ahead of various interested, sometimes violent parties, and coping with the unexpected presence of other-worldly technology. The journey exposes her closely-held secrets, returns her to a past she had long ago disavowed, and accelerates her into a future she never could have imagined.
Nancy grew up in Texas and has been migrating northward ever since. She lives in a 1900s house in the woods of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia with her husband where she writes, makes art, cooks, and learns something new every day. She also helps with her husband's charity for marginalized kids: EPIC.
She writes speculative fiction: science fiction and fantasy. Her work has been called "cozy," "layered," with easy dialogue and characters who "develop so quickly" that one is at once engaged. She likes to think of her plots as twisty since she never knows what's going to come next.
