Stats! Goals!

First of all: Yay! I remembered how to construct a rudimentary html table. Some things we never forget: how to ride a bike, how to make a table on the Internet…

It’s nice to see evidence of the progress I’ve made in the last three years as a writer. I only started keeping records online using The Submission Grinder after coming home from VP in October 2013. Before that, I had a WordPerfect table that sufficed because the submissions were few and far between.

Here’s my working list of what I’d like to do in 2016: Research markets for and submit novels (I have two at the submittable stage). Complete a first draft of my half-finished novel. Begin revisions on that novel. Write six new short stories (low-balling this one because of that unfinished novel). Revise the half-dozen stories I can think of off the top of my head that are finished but not ready. Submit as much and as often as possible. Try to exceed 41? Why not?

And, while I’m at it: Blog more. Tweet more. Do more art. Make that quilt for my granddaughter.

Caveats to Self Don’t be nervous. These are goals, not resolutions. They may not survive contact with reality. That’s okay as long as you’re making progress on your writing.
